⚠️ Warning (LEVEL 7)
Tax Rate ‘Cut’ Hides Property Tax Hike
📅 Public Hearing and Vote: August 27, 2026
The district is voting on a new property tax rate for the 2026-2027 school year. While the proposed rate of $0.9127 is lower than last year’s $0.9278, rising property values mean this is not a real tax cut for many residents. According to the district’s own Taxpayer Impact Statement, the tax bill for the median-valued home in Bosque County will increase by over $100, from $1,809 to $1,912. The district is collecting more money from homeowners while claiming to cut the rate.
Response

Show up for the Public Hearing on August 27th and sign up for public comment. Ask the board why they are framing a tax levy increase as a ‘tax rate cut’ when the bill for the median homeowner in Bosque County is going up. Demand they adopt the no-new-revenue rate, which would keep tax bills flat on average.

💰 Impact: A $103 tax increase for the median Bosque County homeowner.
