Timpson ISD is proposing a new tax rate of $0.9251, which is slightly lower than last year’s rate of $0.9527. The district may present this as a tax cut. However, due to soaring property appraisals, the median home value has jumped from $135,000 to $245,000. The result is a massive tax increase for families. The actual property tax bill for the median homeowner is projected to increase from approximately $1,286 to $2,266 per year — a 76% jump in what they will pay.

SHOW UP AND SPEAK UP: Attend the Public Hearing on Tuesday, August 25th at 5:30 PM. Tell the board to adopt the ‘No-New-Revenue’ tax rate, which would prevent this massive tax hike on Timpson families. Demand they explain why the median homeowner’s tax bill is increasing by 76%.
