Board to Vote on 2026-2027 Property Tax Rate
The Board will vote to adopt the property tax rate for the upcoming year. Due to rising property appraisals, any rate adopted above the “No-New-Revenue Rate” is a tax increase on homeowners, even if the rate itself is pitched as a ‘cut’.
Response
PACK THE ROOM: Show up Tuesday and sign up for public comment. Contact the Board (see the Official Agenda link for details): ‘Regarding Item VIII.D, I urge you to protect homeowners and adopt the No-New-Revenue tax rate. Anything higher is a tax increase.’
π° Impact: Higher Property Taxes

Large Purchases Hidden on Consent Agenda
The board plans to approve all purchases over $50,000 in a single vote without public discussion. Hiding significant spending on the “consent agenda” prevents scrutiny of vendors, necessity, and the total cost to taxpayers.
Response
DEMAND A RECORDED VOTE: Contact the Board (see the Official Agenda link for details): ‘Pull Item VII.C.II from the Consent Agenda for separate discussion and a roll-call vote. Taxpayers deserve to know where our money is going before you approve it.’
π° Impact: Undisclosed Spending

Campus Improvement Plans Approved Without Scrutiny
The board is set to approve the District and Campus Improvement Plans on the consent agenda, bypassing individual review. These documents can be used to introduce controversial curricula, SEL programs, or DEI initiatives into schools.
Response
INVESTIGATE: Open the file for Item VII.E attached in the Official Agenda (linked above) to check for terms like ‘equity,’ ‘social-emotional learning,’ or ‘DEI.’ Contact the Board: ‘Pull Item VII.E from the consent agenda. Parents deserve a full discussion on the goals in these plans before they are approved.’
π° Impact: Politicized Classrooms
