WARNING (LEVEL 7)
Board to Set Taxpayer-Funded Lobbying Agenda
📅 November 2, 2026
The board will hold a ‘Discussion of Legislative Priorities.’ This is the first step toward using district resources and taxpayer dollars to lobby the Texas Legislature, often against the interests of parents and taxpayers on issues like property tax reform and curriculum transparency.
Response

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the Board of Trustees before the meeting (see the Official Agenda link for contact info). ‘Regarding Item 5.B, the district’s only legislative priority should be excellence in education, not lobbying Austin with our tax dollars. I urge you to adopt a platform that supports property tax relief and parental rights, and to oppose any use of public funds for political lobbying.’
