Health Committee Members Approved Without Public Review

📅 Scheduled Action

The board plans to approve the members of the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC), a committee with influence over health and sex education curriculum. The district has not published the list of proposed members, preventing parents from reviewing their qualifications and viewpoints before they are appointed.

Response

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the San Diego ISD board. Ask: ‘Regarding Item 12.B, the list of proposed SHAC members must be made public immediately. Parents have a right to know who is shaping the health curriculum for our children before they are approved.’

💰 Impact: Bypassing Parents

ALERT (LEVEL 4)

Undisclosed Teacher/Admin Bonus Plan

📅 Scheduled Action

The board is scheduled to approve a ‘Performance Incentive Pay Plan’ without providing the document to the public ahead of the meeting. This prevents taxpayers from seeing how ‘performance’ is measured, who is eligible, and how much this bonus plan will cost.

Response

DEMAND THE DETAILS: Contact the San Diego ISD board and administration. Ask: ‘Regarding Item 12.A, please publish the full Performance Incentive Pay Plan online for public review before any vote is taken. Taxpayers deserve to know the metrics and total cost.’

💰 Impact: Undisclosed Bonus Costs
