Public Hearing on Your Property Tax Bill
📅 August 26, 2026
Ricardo ISD is holding its public hearing to set the 2026-2027 budget and property tax rate. This is the single most important meeting for taxpayers to influence their tax bill. The board will decide how much to spend and how much property owners will have to pay. Without public input, boards often adopt tax rates that increase the total amount of taxes collected (the levy), even if they claim the rate itself isn’t going up.
Response

PACK THE ROOM: This is the most important meeting of the year for your wallet. Show up on August 26th and sign up for public testimony. Urge the board to adopt the ‘No-New-Revenue’ tax rate and to cut spending before raising your property tax bill.

💰 Impact: Potential property tax increase above the no-new-revenue rate.
