Heads up, taxpayers and parents: We’ve audited the upcoming REG 13 EDUCATION SERVICE CENTER agenda. There are 3 items targeting parental consent and taxpayer funds that need your immediate attention before the gavel falls.

Massive Spending Vote with No Public Documents
The board has placed over 20 items on the agenda for contract approvals, budget amendments, and policy changes (Items VII through XXVIII) without providing any supporting documents, vendor names, or costs to the public. This prevents taxpayers from seeing how their money is being spent before it’s approved. This is a major failure of government transparency.
Response
PACK THE ROOM: Sign up for public comment. Contact the REG 13 ESC Board of Directors: ‘The August 25th agenda is unacceptable. I demand all contracts and budget items be tabled until the full documents and costs are posted for public review. Do not vote on secret spending.’
π° Impact: Potentially millions in taxpayer funds approved without public review.

Using Your Tax Dollars to Lobby Against You
The board is voting to select and send a delegate to the TASA/TASB convention. These are two of the most powerful education lobby groups in Austin, and they frequently use public funds to lobby the Legislature against property tax relief, parental rights, and school choice. This vote authorizes using public resources to participate in their political activities.
Response
DEMAND A RECORDED VOTE: Contact the REG 13 ESC Board of Directors. ‘Item XXIX is about taxpayer-funded lobbying. Taxpayers should not be funding organizations that lobby against property tax cuts and parental rights. I demand a roll-call vote on this item.’
π° Impact: Cost of delegate’s travel and participation, plus funding a lobby that works against taxpayer interests.

Paying for Vague ‘Professional Learning’
Item XIX is a contract for ‘Professional Learning and Tools & Resources’ with an unknown vendor (SGS). Vague ‘professional learning’ or ‘training’ contracts are often used to pay consultants for ideological programs related to DEI or SEL. Without a public contract, taxpayers have no idea what is being purchased or taught to staff on their dime.
Response
DEMAND THE DETAILS: Contact the REG 13 ESC Board of Directors: ‘Regarding Item XIX, please publish the full contract before the vote. What specific services is vendor SGS providing, and what is the total cost to taxpayers?’
π° Impact: Undisclosed cost of consultant contract.
