Board Training May Discourage Public Accountability
📅 October 1, 2026
The board is holding a “TEAM of 8” training session with the Region 17 Education Service Center. While training is normal, these sessions can sometimes be used to promote board unity at the expense of independent oversight, encouraging trustees to act as a rubber stamp for the administration rather than as watchdogs for taxpayers.
Response

REQUEST THE MATERIALS: Contact the Plainview ISD administration (see the Official Agenda link for contact info) and request that all ‘TEAM of 8’ training materials from the Region 17 workshop be posted publicly. Taxpayers have a right to see how their elected officials are being trained to govern.

💰 Impact: Reduced Board Accountability
