This is the single most important vote of the year for taxpayers, as it determines the size of their school tax bill. It is critical for the public to know if the proposed rate is above the ‘no-new-revenue rate,’ which would represent a tax increase on homeowners even if the rate itself is framed as a ‘cut.’

ATTEND THE PUBLIC HEARING: Show up on August 26th at 5:30 PM. Sign up to speak and ask the board directly: ‘Are you adopting a tax rate higher than the no-new-revenue rate? If so, I demand you explain the new spending that justifies this tax increase and hold a recorded, roll-call vote on the tax rate ordinance.’
