The School Library Advisory Council is scheduled to review and vote on recommendations for challenged books and new library acquisitions. However, the lists of these books are not included in the public agenda, preventing parents and taxpayers from reviewing the materials before the council makes its recommendations to the Board of Trustees.

INVESTIGATE: The agenda for items IV, V, VI, and VII references lists of ‘Challenged Books’ and ‘Library Acquisitions’ but does not provide them. Contact the Lubbock ISD administration (see the Official Agenda link for contact info) and demand these lists be published online well before the October 19th meeting so parents can review them before the council votes.
