🚨 Alert (LEVEL 9)
Vote on the 2027 Property Tax Rate and Budget
📅 August 27, 2026
The school board is holding a public hearing and then immediately voting to adopt the new budget and property tax rate for the 2026-2027 school year. This vote will set the amount of money the district takes from property owners. Taxpayers should be aware of the difference between the tax rate and the tax levy (the total amount collected), as rising property values can lead to a higher tax bill even with a so-called ‘lower’ rate.
Response

This is the most important meeting of the year for your wallet. Attend the Public Hearing at 6:00 PM to ask the board if they are adopting the ‘No-New-Revenue’ tax rate. If not, ask them to explain why they need more of your money and demand a recorded vote on the tax rate adoption (Item 3.B).

💰 Impact: Potentially higher property tax bills for 2027.
