External Audit Discussed Behind Closed Doors
The board is discussing the district’s external audit in a closed session, citing legal and personnel reasons. Audits are a key tool for taxpayer accountability, and discussing them in private prevents public scrutiny of the district’s financial management before the board can control the narrative.
Response
DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the Kingsville ISD Board. ‘Regarding Item 6.C, the results of an external audit of taxpayer funds should be discussed in public. Why is this being held in a closed session? Release the full audit report to the public.’
💰 Impact: Reduced Accountability

Secretive ‘Team of Eight’ Board Training
The board is holding ‘Team of Eight’ training in a closed session without disclosing the provider or the topic. This type of training is often conducted by taxpayer-funded lobby groups like the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), which may train officials on priorities that conflict with taxpayer interests.
Response
DEMAND THE DETAILS: Contact the Kingsville ISD Board. ‘Regarding Item 6.D, who is conducting the Team of Eight training, what is the cost, and why is it in a closed session? Taxpayers must know who is influencing their elected officials.’
💰 Impact: Undisclosed Training Content
