WARNING (LEVEL 7)
District Considers Long-Term Debt for Energy Upgrades
📅 October 22, 2026
The board will vote on an ‘Energy Savings Performance Contract’ (ESPC) with McKinstry Essention, LLC. These contracts often function as long-term debt, obligating taxpayers for years to pay for facility upgrades without direct voter approval. The final financing terms are not yet public, hiding the true cost of the deal.
Response

Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and demand the board table Item II.B. ‘Before approving the ESPC with McKinstry, the public deserves to see the full contract and all financing terms. This is long-term debt and should be treated with full transparency, not rushed through a special meeting.’
