Heads up, taxpayers and parents: We’ve audited the upcoming HUTTO ISD agenda. There are 3 items targeting parental consent and taxpayer funds that need your immediate attention before the gavel falls.

School Board to Vote on Your Tax Bill, But Won’t Show You the Numbers
The Hutto ISD Board is scheduled to adopt the 2026 property tax rate, the single most important vote affecting homeowners’ wallets. However, the agenda fails to disclose the proposed tax rate, how it compares to the ‘no-new-revenue’ rate (the rate that would raise the same amount of money as last year), or the impact on the average tax bill. This lack of transparency makes it impossible for taxpayers to prepare for public comment and hold the board accountable.
Response
DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the Hutto ISD board members before Thursday’s meeting. Ask them to immediately publish the proposed 2026 tax rate, the no-new-revenue rate, and the voter-approval rate. Taxpayers deserve to see the numbers before the vote.
π° Impact: Potential undisclosed property tax increase

Mental Health Services Expansion Hidden in Bundled Vote
The board plans to approve three separate agreements with an outside provider, Bluebonnet Trails Community Services, for ‘Behavioral Health,’ ‘Substance Use Prevention,’ and a ‘PADRES Program.’ By bundling these into the ‘Consent Agenda,’ the board avoids a separate public discussion on each. This creates a pathway for school-based mental health services that could operate without direct parental presence or full consent, and it’s unclear what student data will be shared with this third party.
Response
DEMAND A RECORDED VOTE: Contact the Hutto ISD board and demand that items 9.e, 9.f, and 9.g be pulled from the Consent Agenda for individual discussion and a roll-call vote. Ask: What are the exact parental consent procedures before a child receives services? What student data is shared with Bluebonnet Trails?
π° Impact: Erosion of parental oversight over student mental health; undisclosed data sharing.

Large Math Curriculum Purchase From Controversial Vendor on Auto-Approval
The district is set to approve a large purchase for the ‘Carnegie Math – Mathia & MATHstream Bundle’ as part of the consent agenda, preventing public discussion. Carnegie Learning is a vendor known nationally for embedding ‘Social Emotional Learning’ (SEL) and other politically-charged concepts into its math curriculum. Taxpayers deserve to know what ideological frameworks are included in this material before the district spends over $100,000 on it.
Response
DEMAND THE DETAILS: Contact the Hutto ISD board and ask that item 9.b.1 be pulled from the Consent Agenda. Ask for a public presentation of the curriculum and a confirmation that it is free of ‘Social Emotional Learning’ and other political agendas before the vote.
π° Impact: Over $100,000 for curriculum with potential ideological content.
