WARNING (LEVEL 7)

Undisclosed Cost Increase for High School Construction

📅 October 14, 2026

The board will vote on a ‘Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Amendment’ for the high school construction project without disclosing the new cost or the reason for the change. This prevents taxpayers from knowing if this is a necessary adjustment or a major cost overrun being approved in the dark.

Response

Contact the El Campo ISD Board of Trustees (see the district website for contact info) before the 4:30 PM meeting: ‘Regarding Item 3.A, what is the new total Guaranteed Maximum Price, what is the reason for this amendment, and what is the source of the funds? This information must be public before any vote.’
