WARNING (LEVEL 7)
Board Training by Taxpayer-Funded Lobby Group
📅 October 6, 2026
The school board is holding a ‘Team of Eight’ training session led by presenters associated with the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) and Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA). These are taxpayer-funded lobbying organizations that often work against parent and taxpayer interests in Austin. This session uses local tax dollars to train board members in the lobbying group’s preferred governance and messaging strategies.
Response

Contact the Corpus Christi ISD board members (see district website for contact info): ‘Regarding the ‘Team of Eight Training’ on Item 3 of the October 6 agenda, please disclose the full cost and all training materials provided by the presenters. Taxpayer funds should not be used to pay lobbying groups to influence our elected trustees.’
