Vague ‘Alternative Educational Programming’ Workshop

📅 October 19, 2026

The board is holding a workshop on ‘Alternative Educational Programming.’ This vague term could conceal the introduction of controversial curricula like Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) or other programs that divert focus from core academics. Taxpayers should demand clarity on what specific programs are being considered before they become official proposals.

Response

DEMAND THE DETAILS: Contact the Channelview ISD Board of Trustees (see the district website for contact info) regarding Item 6: ‘Please provide the public with all materials related to the ‘Alternative Educational Programming’ workshop so we can understand what is being discussed with our tax dollars before any new programs are advanced.’
