⚠️ Warning (LEVEL 7)
Rubber-Stamping Policy from Austin Lobby Group
📅 September 28, 2026
The board is scheduled to approve ‘Policy Update 127’ from the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB). TASB is a taxpayer-funded lobbying organization that often opposes property tax relief and parental rights at the Texas Legislature. Adopting their pre-packaged policies outsources local control to an Austin-based special interest group.
Response

DEMAND A RECORDED VOTE: Contact the Buckholts ISD board before the meeting. ‘Pull Item VIII.D for a separate discussion and recorded vote. Our district should write its own policies, not rubber-stamp them from an Austin lobby group.’

💰 Impact: Ceding Local Control to Lobbyists
