Vague Health Recommendations on Consent Agenda

The board is set to approve recommendations from the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) without a separate discussion by placing it on the consent agenda. SHAC recommendations can introduce controversial social-emotional learning (SEL) or health curriculum changes that bypass parent and taxpayer scrutiny.

DEMAND A RECORDED VOTE: Contact the Azle ISD Board (see district website for contact info). ‘I demand Consent Item 10.F.3, the SHAC Program Recommendations, be pulled from the Consent Agenda for a full presentation and a separate roll-call vote. Parents deserve to know what is being recommended for their children’s health curriculum.’
