Heads up! Our parent watchdogs have scanned the upcoming agenda for Westside Union Elementary. We found 2 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.
⚠️ NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
Public Comment Time Limited
📅 August 25, 2026
The agenda imposes strict limits on public comment, allowing only three minutes per speaker and a total of twenty minutes per subject, exclusively for closed session items. This policy prevents direct dialogue with the Board, making it harder for parents to get answers and hold the board accountable.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and state: ‘I demand the Board immediately review and expand the public comment policy to allow for more time, direct dialogue, and open session input from parents on all agenda items.’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: Reduced Parental Voice
ALERT (LEVEL 4)
Trustee Workshop Content Unclear
📅 August 25, 2026
The agenda lists a ‘General Overview and Expectations of a Trustee’ workshop without providing any details or attachments on its content. This lack of transparency means parents cannot know if the workshop includes ideological training or changes to how trustees interact with the public and policy.
Recommended Action Plan

INVESTIGATE: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and request the agenda and materials for the ‘General Overview and Expectations of a Trustee’ workshop, specifically asking what topics related to parental engagement or policy oversight were covered.

💰 Taxpayer Impact: Undisclosed Training
