University Psychology Interns Given Access to Students
Hidden inside the ‘Teaching Personnel List’ (Item 4.03) is an ‘Affiliation Agreement’ with Marist University. This agreement allows university school psychology students to work as interns in our schools. While the district supervises them, the university controls the interns’ curriculum and training. This creates a pipeline for university-level social theories on gender, race, and behavior to be tested on our children by students who are not yet licensed professionals. The agreement confirms they will have access to confidential student records.
Recommended Action Plan
DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Email the Board of Education. ‘Pull the Marist University Affiliation Agreement from the Consent Agenda (Item 4.03) for a separate vote. What is the content of Marist’s school psychology program? Parents have a right to know what these interns are being taught before they are given access to our children and their private data.’ Urge members to verify board contact information on the district website.
💰 Taxpayer Impact: Potential introduction of ideological social-emotional programming into schools without parental consent.
