Outside Group Setting the District’s Agenda
| 📅 Meeting on July 28, 2026 |
The Board is holding a “retreat” to let the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) guide their “Strategic Planning.” The NJSBA is a powerful statewide organization that often promotes controversial initiatives like DEI, “equity,” and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) to local districts under the cover of “best practices.” This meeting is where those ideas get planted, long before they show up as specific policies for a vote. This is an attempt to have an outside group define our district’s goals for the next several years, shifting focus from academics to social programming.
Recommended Action Plan
Email the Board at boardmembers@wallpublicschools.org and Superintendent Dr. David Bleakley at officeofsuperintendent@wallpublicschools.org: ‘Regarding the NJSBA Strategic Planning session, I urge you to ensure that any new district goals are focused exclusively on academic achievement and fiscal responsibility. We expect our locally elected board, not a statewide association, to set the priorities for Wall Township schools. Please commit to making the draft strategic plan available for public review and comment before any adoption.’
💰 Taxpayer Impact: Taxpayer-funded NJSBA membership dues and potential future consultant fees.
