Heads up! We have scanned the upcoming agenda for Wake County Schools. We found 2 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.
NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
Board Planning “Welcoming Schools” Agenda
πŸ“… October 13, 2026
The board is holding a ‘visioning activity’ to define a ‘welcoming school atmosphere’ (Item V). ‘Welcoming Schools’ is a common Trojan horse term used by activist groups to introduce controversial policies on gender identity, race, and sexuality under the guise of kindness and inclusion.
Recommended Action Plan

Parents must define what ‘welcoming’ means before the board does. Contact the Community Engagement Committee (see the Official Agenda link for contact info) and state: ‘Regarding Item V, a truly welcoming school welcomes all students by focusing on academic excellence, physical safety, and respect for parental rights. It must not use ‘welcoming’ as a code word for political or gender ideology.’

πŸ’° Impact: Ideological Policy Creep
NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 6)
District Pushing “Restorative Practices” and SEL
πŸ“… October 13, 2026
Under Item III, the district is presenting its ‘Behavioral Health Framework’ which includes ‘Restorative Practices,’ ‘Social-Emotional Learning’ (SEL), and ‘Trauma-Informed Practices.’ These programs often replace traditional discipline with therapeutic interventions, prioritizing a student’s feelings over accountability and potentially making classrooms less safe for all students.
Recommended Action Plan

This is a presentation, not a vote, making it a key time to challenge the premises. Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and ask to forward a message to the Community Engagement Committee: ‘Regarding the Restorative Practices presentation under Item III, what specific data shows these programs improve student behavior and academic outcomes? How will the district ensure they do not compromise classroom safety and teacher authority?’
