⚠️ NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
District Pays Lobbying Group to Influence Lawmakers
📅 August 24, 2026
The Board is assigning a new liaison to the Association of Metropolitan School Districts (AMSD), a group that lobbies state legislators. This means local tax dollars are being used to fund political advocacy that may not align with parents’ values or protect their rights.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY: Contact the School Board (see the Official Agenda link for contact info): ‘What specific legislation has AMSD lobbied for or against in the past year using our district’s membership dues? Parents have a right to know how our tax dollars are being used for political advocacy.’

⚠️ NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 6)
Divisive ‘Affinity Groups’ Added to Board’s 2-Year Plan
📅 August 24, 2026
The Board is developing its two-year strategic plan, which explicitly includes engagement with student ‘Affinity’ groups. These groups often segregate students by race or identity, introducing divisive ideologies into the school environment under the guise of ‘inclusion’.
Recommended Action Plan

ASK QUESTIONS NOW: This is a discussion item. Contact the School Board (see the Official Agenda link for contact info) before the meeting: ‘Regarding the 2-Year Board Agenda, what is the purpose of ‘Affinity’ groups, and how will the district ensure they unite students rather than segregate them by identity? This must be discussed publicly.’
