The Board’s official ‘Norms’ document includes troubling rules like ‘speak with one voice after decisions are made’ (Norm #4) and ‘refrain from making promises to… the public’ (Norm #17). These rules are designed to hide dissent among board members and allow them to evade accountability to the voters who elected them.

DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY: Contact the Board of Education via the district website (see Official Agenda link). ‘Your adopted ‘Norms,’ specifically #4 and #17, appear designed to hide dissent and avoid accountability to the public. We elected you to be our individual voices, not to ‘speak with one voice’ for the administration. We expect you to be accountable to the public, not to ‘refrain from making promises’ to us.’
