The board is holding a closed session to discuss and appoint a new Superintendent. This is the most powerful, non-elected position in the district, and this process gives parents no opportunity to vet the candidates or their educational philosophies before a decision is made.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND A VOICE: The Superintendent hire is the most important decision the Board makes. Email the district at district@slcusd.org: ‘Parents demand a public forum to meet the final Superintendent candidates and hear their vision for our district before any appointment is made under Item 3.01. Do not hire a new leader without public input.’

Planning Session for New “Measure C” Tax

The board has scheduled a “Measure C Study Session” for October 15. This is the first step in creating a new bond or tax levy, where they decide how to spend millions in future taxpayer dollars. This is the critical stage where ideological projects can be bundled with necessary repairs to hide them from voters.

GET AHEAD OF THE MONEY: Attend the ‘Measure C Study Session’ on October 15th. Email the district at district@slcusd.org: ‘Regarding the upcoming Measure C Study Session, parents demand a full, transparent breakdown of all proposed projects and costs before anything is bundled into a ballot measure. We will not support a blank check for the district.’
