The public has a right to Board oversight on the hiring of all executive-level district employees. Do not surrender your authority to the Superintendent.’

New ‘State-Developed’ Curriculum Tied to Funding

The district is adopting a new K-5 reading curriculum pilot called ‘Bluebonnet Learning’ because it’s required to get more state money. This ‘Open Educational Resource’ (OER) curriculum from the state must be vetted by parents to ensure it’s not a vehicle for ideology disguised as reading instruction.

DEMAND REVIEW: Email the Board (contact info on the district website): ‘Regarding Item 3, what is the public review process for the “Bluebonnet Learning” curriculum before this pilot begins? Parents must have the opportunity to inspect these state-provided materials.’
