District Imposing Medical Plans Without Parental Consent

New policies JLCDA and JLCDA-R would allow the district to implement an ‘Individual Healthcare Plan’ (IHP) on a child even if the parent refuses to sign off on it. The policy states that after three attempts to get a signature, the plan will be implemented anyway, based on orders from a doctor and the school nurse, cutting parents out of the final decision-making process for their own child’s health.

PACK THE ROOM: This is a direct violation of parental rights. Email the Board (contact info on district website) and attend the Aug 17 meeting. Demand they strike the provision allowing them to implement a health plan without a parent’s signature from policies JLCDA and JLCDA-R. ‘We do not co-parent with the government, especially on our children’s health. Vote NO.’

ASK FOR DEFINITIONS: Email the Board (contact info on district website): ‘Regarding the school opening update, what specific, measurable, academic metrics will be used to evaluate ‘student well-being’ and ‘school climate’? Parents deserve to know if this is a backdoor for SEL surveys and curriculum.’
