Heads up! Our parent watchdogs have scanned the upcoming agenda for PROSPER ISD. We found 3 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.
🚨 HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 8)
Larger K-4 Class Sizes Hidden on Consent Agenda
📅 2026-08-24
The district is using its “District of Innovation” status to get a waiver allowing them to exceed the state-mandated 22:1 student-to-teacher ratio in K-4 classrooms. This means more crowded classrooms and less individual attention for our youngest students, and it’s bundled for quick approval without discussion.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Email the Board of Trustees (see the Official Agenda link for contact info). ‘Item 11.D, the class size waiver, must be pulled from the Consent Agenda for a full discussion. Parents deserve to know exactly how many K-4 classrooms will be over the state limit of 22 students.’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: Overcrowded Classrooms
⚠️ NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
Restrictive Public Comment Policy
📅 2026-08-24
The district requires parents to register online by noon on the Friday before a Monday meeting to speak. This rule prevents parents from responding to last-minute agenda items and makes it harder for their voices to be heard on critical issues.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND YOUR RIGHT TO BE HEARD: Email the Board of Trustees (see the Official Agenda link for contact info). ‘The Friday registration deadline for public comment is an unnecessary barrier for busy parents. We demand same-day, in-person registration be restored so our voices can be heard.’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: Suppressed Parent Voice
⚠️ NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
Vague ‘Improvement Plans’ Up for Vote
📅 2026-08-24
The board is voting to approve the District and Campus Improvement Plans, but the actual documents are not included in the agenda text. These plans are often where ideological initiatives like SEL or DEI are embedded, and parents have no way to review them before the vote.
Recommended Action Plan

INVESTIGATE: Open the file attachments for Items 12.B and 12.C in the Official Agenda (linked above) to confirm whether they contain sensitive policy changes. Email the Board to demand the vote be postponed until parents have had 30 days to review these critical documents.
