ALERT (LEVEL 4)
State School Board Association Guiding ‘Goal Setting’
📅 August 10, 2026
The New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) is leading a “Board Goal Setting” session. While this could be routine, these sessions are often used by state-level groups to introduce ideological frameworks like ‘equity’ or ‘social-emotional learning’ under the guise of strategic planning.
Recommended Action Plan

MONITOR & QUESTION: Attend the meeting to hear what ‘goals’ the NJSBA is proposing. Email the Board (contact info on district website): ‘What specific frameworks and priorities will the NJSBA be presenting during the goal-setting session? We expect the board’s goals to remain focused on academic excellence and parental rights.’

Major Win (LEVEL 9)
District Proposes Strong ‘Bell-to-Bell’ Cell Phone Ban
📅 August 10, 2026
The board is voting on a new policy and regulation (P/R 5516) to ban student cell phone use during the entire school day. The plan uses a locked pouch system for enforcement and requires parents to pick up confiscated phones on a second offense, ensuring the policy has teeth and returns focus to academics.
How to Lock It In

PACK THE ROOM TO SUPPORT: Show up to thank the Board for this excellent policy that protects the learning environment. Email the Board (contact info on district website): ‘Thank you for prioritizing academics and student well-being. Please vote YES on P/R 5516 to get cell phones out of our kids’ classrooms.’
