🚨 HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 8)
District to Hire Strategic Planning Consultant
📅 August 24, 2026
The Board is reviewing proposals to hire a consultant to create a new multi-year strategic plan. Several vendors, particularly Studer Education, propose extensive district-wide surveys of students, staff, and the community to gather data on non-academic issues like ‘culture’ and ‘voice.’ This process is often used to justify implementing SEL/DEI initiatives instead of focusing on core academic achievement.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND ACADEMIC FOCUS: This decision will set the district’s direction for years. Contact the Board (see the Official Agenda link for contact info): ‘I urge you to reject any strategic planning consultant, like Studer Education, that prioritizes data-mining surveys and ‘culture’ over academic excellence. Our children need a plan for math and reading, not social engineering.’
