NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 6)
Vague ‘Elevate 34668’ Initiative Introduced
📅 October 20, 2026
The board is holding a workshop on a new program called ‘Elevate 34668,’ which appears to be a place-based initiative for a specific zip code. Vague, positive-sounding names like ‘Elevate’ are often used as cover for ‘whole child’ or ‘community school’ models that can include student data collection, mental health services, and other non-academic interventions that bypass parents.
Recommended Action Plan

INVESTIGATE: The agenda states materials for Item 1.1 ‘Elevate 34668’ may not be available until October 16. Call the Superintendent’s office at (813) 794-2000 and email the board (contact info on district website): ‘What is the ‘Elevate 34668′ initiative, what are its goals, and which outside partners or grant funders are involved? We expect all materials to be posted publicly with adequate time for review before the workshop.’
