NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
District to Discuss More Classroom Screen Time and AI
πŸ“… October 5, 2026
The district’s Education Advisory Committee is holding a discussion on expanding technology and AI use in classrooms under Item G.1. This is a critical opportunity for parents to demand strict standards, including proof of academic effectiveness and transparency about increased screen time, before new programs are approved.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND STANDARDS: Attend the meeting to speak on Item G.1. Ask the committee: ‘Before adopting any new classroom technology, will the Board commit to publishing independent, non-vendor-funded evidence of its academic effectiveness and a report on the daily screen time it will add, replacing direct teacher instruction?’ Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) to find out how to submit public comment for the Education Advisory Committee meeting.
