ALERT (LEVEL 4)

Union Contract Negotiations Held in Secret Session

📅 November 24, 2026

The School Committee is holding a closed-door ‘Executive Session’ to discuss strategy for collective bargaining with the Mattapoisett Education Support Professionals Union. Union contracts are often used to lock in controversial policies on gender, curriculum, and discipline for years, bypassing public debate and parental review.

Recommended Action Plan

Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and deliver this message to the School Committee: ‘Regarding Item XII, while we understand executive sessions are permitted for negotiation strategy, the final collective bargaining agreement must be made public for parental review with at least 30 days for public comment before any final vote. We will not accept policies affecting our children being locked into secret union deals.’
