ALERT (LEVEL 2)
‘Equity’ Language Enters Facilities Planning
📅 October 7, 2026
The district’s 5-year facilities plan introduces ‘Equity’ as a key objective. While the current definition focuses on fair resource allocation for building maintenance, this language can be a trojan horse for future ideological programs that redefine ‘equity’ as equal outcomes.
Recommended Action Plan

Monitor: This use of ‘equity’ appears focused on buildings, not ideology, for now. Keep an eye on how this term is used in future academic and policy discussions.

Major Win (LEVEL 7)
District Seeks Parent Volunteers for Facilities Committee
📅 October 7, 2026
The district’s new 5-Year Facilities Plan explicitly invites parents to serve as liaisons to the Board Facilities Committee. This is a direct opportunity for parents to gain influence and ensure transparency in how the district spends money on buildings and learning spaces.
How to Lock It In

ACTION: This is a golden opportunity. Email Superintendent Michael Kline at michael.kline@northpolk.org today to volunteer for the Board Facilities Committee. We need our members in these positions to ensure fiscal responsibility and keep the focus on core priorities.
