District to Vote on New K-12 Sex-Ed Curriculum
Under Action Item 5.A, the Board will vote on a new ‘Human Growth and Development’ curriculum. The proposal is based on the controversial 2nd Edition National Sex Education Standards and explicitly introduces concepts like ‘gender identity,’ ‘gender expression,’ and ‘sexual orientation’ to students in elementary and middle school, with ‘consent’ being taught as early as kindergarten.
Recommended Action Plan
PACK THE ROOM: This is a vote to approve a radical new curriculum. Contact the Board of Education (see the Official Agenda link for contact details) and attend the meeting on October 6th. Urge them to vote NO on Item 5.A and demand a curriculum that respects parental rights and focuses on age-appropriate biology, not ideology.
π° Impact: Exposing Young Children to Radical Ideology

District Adopts ‘Support System’ Known for Data Collection
An update to Policy 5461 (‘Children At-Risk’) formally adopts the ‘Wisconsin Multi-Level System of Supports (MLSS) Model’ for academics and behavior. MLSS is another name for MTSS, a framework often used to implement Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and collect extensive non-academic data on students under the guise of ‘support.’
Recommended Action Plan
DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the Board of Education (see the Official Agenda link for contact details): ‘Regarding the MLSS model in Policy 5461, what specific non-academic student data will be collected under the ‘Behavior’ component, who will have access to it, and how can parents opt their children out?’
π° Impact: Student Data Collection

Superintendent Goals Prioritize ‘Well-Being’ Over Academics
Under Item 6.B, the Board will discuss goals for the District Administrator’s evaluation. The draft priorities focus on subjective concepts like ‘care and support for students,’ ‘well-being,’ and creating an ‘inclusive school community.’ This shifts the district’s highest measure of success away from core academic achievement like reading and math proficiency.
Recommended Action Plan
REDIRECT THE FOCUS: Speak during the Open Forum. Urge the Board to make the Superintendent’s primary evaluation goals dependent on measurable improvements in student academic performance, not subjective social-emotional metrics. ‘We expect the district leader to be evaluated on reading, writing, and arithmetic.’
π° Impact: Focus on SEL, not Academics

| Major Win (LEVEL 8) |

Parental Rights Win: New Policy Grants Access to Library Records
A technical update to Policy 2522 (Library Media Centers) includes a major win for parental rights. The new language explicitly states that ‘Parents of a student under the age of sixteen (16) have the right to review, upon request, library media centers records relating to the use of the centerβs documents or other materials, resources or services by the student.’ This codifies a parent’s right to know what their minor child is checking out.
How to Lock It In
SECURE THE WIN: Show up to thank the Board for strengthening parental rights in Policy 2522. Publicly praising this move makes it harder to reverse and provides a model policy for other chapters to advocate for in their own districts.
