HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 8)
District Proposes ‘Home Visits’ for Student Absences
📅 October 15, 2026
Under Action Item I.1, the board will vote on a $5,500 ‘Attendance Improvement Plan’ to address ‘chronic absenteeism.’ The plan explicitly authorizes ‘Weekly Home Visits’ by school staff for students who miss too much school. This is a major overreach that turns school officials into truancy officers and gives them a license to investigate your family’s private home life.
Recommended Action Plan

PACK THE ROOM: This is a serious boundary violation. Contact the Board (see the Official Agenda link for details) and sign up for public comment: ‘Vote NO on Action Item I.1. The school’s authority ends at the schoolhouse door; ‘home visits’ are an unacceptable intrusion into family privacy and must be removed from this plan.’
