STEM Program Presentation — Manual Review Required

📅 2026-08-06

The board is receiving a presentation on becoming a ‘PLTW Distinguished School.’ While Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is a STEM curriculum provider, such programs can sometimes embed ’21st Century Skills’ or ‘Global Citizenship’ concepts that dilute core academics. The specific ‘Recognition Strategy’ document was attached to the agenda but its contents could not be reviewed.

Recommended Action Plan

INVESTIGATE: Open the file ‘PLTW_Recognition_Strategy_(3).pdf’ attached to Item 4.A in the Official Agenda (linked above) to confirm whether this ‘recognition’ is based on pure academic merit or on adopting specific social or ideological metrics.
