Heads up! Our parent watchdogs have scanned the upcoming agenda for Maumee City, City School District. We found 2 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.

🚨 HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 8)
|
|
Board Pushing $6.1M Permanent Income Tax
The Board is voting to place a permanent 1.25% earned income tax on the November ballot. They want to raise $6.1 million every year for vague 'current expenses' without providing a detailed public breakdown of where the money is going. This is a forever tax on Maumee families.
Recommended Action Plan
DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY: Email Superintendent Steven Lee at slee@maumeek12.org and call Board President Stephanie Piechowiak at (419) 893-3200. Ask: 'Before you put a permanent 1.25% income tax on the ballot, provide a line-item budget showing exactly what 'current expenses' this will fund.'
💰 Taxpayer Impact: $6.1 Million Annually from Taxpayers

⚠️ NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 6)
|
|
Secret Teacher and Coach Contract Cuts
Under Items 9 and 10, the Board is voting on the non-renewal of teacher, staff, and coach contracts. The specific positions and programs affected are not listed in the main agenda, only in attached files. This prevents parents from knowing which programs are being impacted before the vote happens.
Recommended Action Plan
INVESTIGATE: Review the files attached in the Official Agenda for Items 9 and 10. Call the District Office at (419) 893-3200 and ask for a clear list of positions affected by these non-renewals. We need to know if our kids' coaches and club advisors are on the chopping block.
💰 Taxpayer Impact: Loss of Key Staff and Programs
