Special Meeting Called Primarily for Closed-Door Session

📅 October 7, 2026

The Board has called a special meeting with the primary purpose of immediately entering a closed-door ‘Executive Session’ to discuss personnel matters. While such sessions are legal, scheduling a special meeting almost entirely for this purpose discourages public attendance and scrutiny of the Board’s activities.

Recommended Action Plan

ASK FOR TRANSPARENCY: Call Board President Alonzo Blackwell at (216) 587-6100. ‘Regarding the Special Meeting on Oct 7, why was this Executive Session not held during a regularly scheduled meeting? Parents are concerned that scheduling special meetings primarily for closed-door sessions reduces public oversight and transparency.’

💰 Impact: Reduced Public Scrutiny
