Heads up! Our parent watchdogs have scanned the upcoming agenda for Florence Township School District. We found 2 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.
🚨 HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 8)
Equity Policy Nears Final Approval
📅 2026-08-17
The district’s Policy Committee is holding a second reading of Policy 2260, “Equity in School and Classroom Practices,” while the Curriculum Committee discusses a related “Equity Plan.” These initiatives often embed divisive concepts into the curriculum, prioritizing equal outcomes over equal opportunity and academic excellence.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: A ‘second reading’ means this is close to a final vote. Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link): ‘I demand the full text of Policy 2260 and the district’s Equity Plan be made public immediately for parental review before any further action is taken. We oppose policies that judge children by their race.’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: Replacing Academics with Activism
👀 MONITOR (LEVEL 5)
New Mentoring Programs Could Hide SEL/DEI
📅 2026-08-17
The district is launching new “student-to-student” and “staff-to-student” mentoring programs, along with related Professional Development (PD) plans. These programs can be used as a backdoor to introduce controversial Social Emotional Learning (SEL) or DEI topics to students without direct parental oversight.
Recommended Action Plan

ASK QUESTIONS NOW: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link): ‘Regarding the new mentoring programs, what curriculum and training materials will be used? Will parents have the right to review all materials and opt their children out of the program?’
