πŸ“ Drive to Discovery Charter Prepar Office   πŸ“… Thursday, October 29, 2026 to Calendar
πŸ“„ View Official Agenda
Heads up! We have scanned the upcoming agenda for Discovery Charter Preparatory #2 District. We found 3 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.
NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
Public Comment Rules Limit Parent Participation
πŸ“… October 29, 2026
The board’s rules state that items can be voted on at the beginning of the meeting if no speakers have signed up. Since parents can only sign up upon arrival, this process can rush controversial votes before working parents can get there to speak.
Recommended Action Plan

DEFEND YOUR VOICE: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and demand the Board change its public comment policy. ‘Parents who work cannot always arrive at the very start of a meeting. The policy of acting on items early and requiring in-person sign-ups disenfranchises working families. We demand the board allow advance sign-ups and hold all action items until a set time.’

πŸ’° Impact: Reduced Parent Voice
NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 6)
District Developing ‘Social/Emotional Support’ Programs
πŸ“… October 29, 2026
Under item VI.G.3, the district reports it is ‘currently working on… Social/Emotional Support.’ This is often a Trojan horse for SEL curriculum and mental health interventions that can replace academics and occur without full parental consent or knowledge.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and ask: ‘Regarding item VI.G.3, what specific ‘Social/Emotional Support’ programs, curricula, or vendors are being considered? Parents have a right to review all materials before they are brought into our schools.’

πŸ’° Impact: Classroom Social Engineering
ALERT (LEVEL 4)
Planning for New Dual Enrollment Classes
πŸ“… October 29, 2026
The district is planning new Dual Enrollment classes for Spring 2027 (Item VI.G.2). Parents need to ensure they have a voice in which courses are offered and what the eligibility criteria will be before these plans are finalized.
Recommended Action Plan

GET INVOLVED NOW: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and ask: ‘Regarding item VI.G.2, what is the process for parental input on the new Dual Enrollment classes being planned for Spring 2027? We want to be involved in shaping these academic opportunities.’

πŸ’° Impact: Lack of Parental Input
