NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
District to Finalize State Lobbying Platform
📅 October 21, 2026
The Board will review the last legislative session and discuss its lobbying priorities for the upcoming 2027 session under item E60. This is a critical moment where the district decides what it will use our tax dollars to advocate for—or against—in the state legislature, potentially impacting parental rights, curriculum, and school choice.
Recommended Action Plan

ATTEND & SPEAK: This is our chance to shape the district’s lobbying agenda. Urge the Board during public comment on Item E60 to adopt a platform that explicitly defends parental rights, curriculum transparency, and fiscal conservatism, and rejects any unfunded mandates or ideological curriculum from the state.

MONITOR (LEVEL 5)
Student Conduct Policy Under Review
📅 October 21, 2026
Under item G20, the Board is holding a work session on ‘Student Conduct,’ covering discipline, attendance, and safety. These discussions are often where districts introduce ‘Restorative Practices’ which can replace real consequences for misbehavior with talking circles, potentially making classrooms less safe and orderly.
Recommended Action Plan

ASK THE QUESTION: Contact the Board before the meeting and ask about Item G20: ‘Will this new Student Conduct framework include ‘Restorative Practices’ or other policies that reduce consequences for disruptive behavior? Parents expect a discipline policy that prioritizes the safety of all students and the authority of the teacher.’
