Heads up! Our parent watchdogs have scanned the upcoming agenda for CHSD 94. We found 3 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.
🚨 HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 10)
Data-Mining Vendor Hidden in Privacy Policy
📅 2026-08-04
The board is approving a list of “privacy compliant” software vendors that includes Panorama Education, a company known for controversial Social Emotional Learning (SEL) surveys. These “climate” surveys data-mine children on sensitive, non-academic topics, creating psychological profiles of students without full parental consent.
Recommended Action Plan

PACK THE ROOM: This is a critical threat. Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and demand the board pull Panorama Education from the SOPPA-approved vendor list in Item D.5. We must tell them: ‘We do not consent to psychological data-mining of our children. Vote NO on any agreement that includes Panorama Education.’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: Your Child’s Privacy
🚨 HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 9)
Approval of Student Surveillance Software
📅 2026-08-04
The board is renewing a $35,921.20 contract for GoGuardian, which includes “Beacon,” a tool that actively monitors students’ online activity, including searches and documents, for keywords. This creates a digital surveillance system that operates without direct parental oversight, collecting sensitive data on children’s thoughts and feelings.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and ask: ‘Regarding Item D.4, what specific keywords does GoGuardian Beacon scan for? What is the full data privacy policy for this software, and can parents opt their children out of this constant digital monitoring?’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: $35,921.20
⚠️ NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 6)
Budget Decisions Driven by “Climate Surveys”
📅 2026-08-04
The district’s official budget plan, under the state’s “Evidence-Based Funding” model, lists “Climate and culture survey data” as a primary source for making financial decisions. This means subjective student feelings, often measured by SEL surveys, are being prioritized alongside academics to determine how taxpayer money is spent.
Recommended Action Plan

ASK THE QUESTION: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and ask: ‘Regarding the EBF Spending Plan in Item C.3, which specific ‘Climate and culture survey’ is being used to drive budget decisions? Parents have a right to review this survey before our children’s subjective responses are used to allocate millions in funding.’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: Prioritizing Feelings Over Academics
