NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)

Vendor ‘Right at School’ to Bring SEL/Equity Programming to After-School Care

📅 October 8, 2026

Under Item IV.1, the district plans to approve a contract with ‘Right at School’ to run before and after-school programs for elementary students. The vendor’s own proposal is heavily focused on ‘Social Emotional Learning (SEL),’ ‘Equity & Belonging,’ and a ‘Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS),’ embedding social programming into what should be childcare and academic support.

Recommended Action Plan

Email the Board of Trustees and Superintendent Bob Brauneisen (contact info on the district website): ‘Regarding Item IV.1, I am concerned by the heavy focus on Social-Emotional Learning, Equity, and MTSS in the ‘Right at School’ proposal. Before approving this vendor, please explain how the board will ensure this after-school program prioritizes academic support and recreation, not ideological programming, and how parents can review all curriculum materials before their children participate.’
