NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
Board to Discuss Undisclosed ‘Student Matter’ in Secret Session
📅 October 15, 2026
The Board is scheduled to go into a closed-door ‘executive session’ to discuss an unspecified ‘Student Matter.’ This process shields the board’s discussion from public scrutiny, preventing parents from knowing what issues concerning students are being decided in secret.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and email the Board. Ask: ‘Regarding Item 5.a on the Oct. 15th agenda, what is the specific legal justification under Vermont’s Open Meeting Law for holding an executive session on a ‘Student Matter’? Parents deserve transparency on any discussion that could set precedent for how the district handles student issues.’
