Summary — 3/11/2026: Our monitoring of Streetsboro City, City School District has identified 4 agenda items that warrant community action.
PRIORITY LEVEL 9
Board Votes to Rescind Sexual Abuse Policy
The Board is voting to rescind policies that prohibit and mandate the reporting of sexual abuse (Policies 9.22 & 9.27). No replacement policies are attached for public review. This is a dangerous and non-transparent move that appears to weaken student protections and creates immense legal liability.
Recommended Action
Call Board President Kristin Bedford at (330) 626-4900: 'I demand you table the vote on Item 10.A. Rescinding sexual abuse policies without a public review of their replacements is unacceptable and dangerous. Release the documents now.'
💰 Cost: Undefined Liability (Child Safety Risk)

PRIORITY LEVEL 8
Firing Teachers, Cutting Sports, Raising Fees
The Board is voting to fire multiple teachers, eliminate all JV, Freshman, and Middle School sports, and increase the 'pay-to-play' fee to $300 per sport (Items 4.D, 4.G, 4.F). While cutting these core services that families rely on, the board is still approving new, undisclosed vendor contracts.
Recommended Action
Email Treasurer Brian Haines at bhaines@scsrockets.org: 'Why are you firing teachers and cancelling sports while approving new vendor contracts? The Board's priorities are wrong. Vote NO on all cuts in Items 4.D through 4.G.'
💰 Cost: $300 per sport, plus lost staff & programs
PRIORITY LEVEL 7
Blank Check Contracts Hidden in Consent Agenda
The Board is approving two separate contracts for student services with 'Safehouse Preparatory' and 'LearnWell' without disclosing the agreements to the public (Items 4.I & 4.J). This is a 'blank check' approval hidden in the consent agenda, preventing any scrutiny of costs or services rendered.
Recommended Action
Call Board President Kristin Bedford at (330) 626-4900: 'I demand Items 4.I and 4.J be pulled from the Consent Agenda for a separate discussion and roll-call vote. The public has a right to see these contracts before they are approved.'
PRIORITY LEVEL 6
New Contract Cedes Control of After-School Care
The Board is handing over before and after-school care to a national for-profit company, 'Right at School' (Item 5.A). This invites a third party to influence young students and potentially collect their data, all outside the direct oversight of district teachers. The attached contract requires careful public scrutiny.
Recommended Action
Call Superintendent Cynthia Deevers at (330) 626-4900: 'Regarding Item 5.A, who owns the student data collected by Right at School? Provide the specific opt-out form for parents and a full curriculum review before this is voted on.'

💰 Cost: Undefined Future Costs (Data & Ideological)
