The Board is voting to join the 'Ohio Schools Council,' a purchasing group. This sounds like it saves money, but it could lock our district into using pre-approved, politically-motivated vendors for everything from textbooks to software. We lose local control over what comes into our schools.
Recommended Action
Call Board President Wes Klinger at (419) 358-5901 and state: 'I demand Item 8.1 be tabled. The public has not been given a copy of the Ohio Schools Council's agreement or bylaws. We will not approve a blank check for a purchasing group without seeing the rules and their vendor list.'
