PRIORITY LEVEL 8
Secret Meeting to Negotiate Corporate Tax Deals
📅  Meeting on Feb 19, 2026
The Board is holding a 'Special Meeting' for one reason: to go into a secret, closed-door session. They are using a legal loophole for 'economic development' to negotiate a deal that could give a corporation a massive tax break. This shifts the tax burden onto homeowners and starves the schools of future funding.
Recommended Action
Email Superintendent Robert Hardis at rph@beachwoodschools.org and call Board President Megan Walsh at (216) 464-2600: 'I demand a full public hearing with a detailed fiscal impact report before any vote on a tax abatement resulting from the Feb 19th executive session. Do not negotiate away our community's tax base in secret.'
💰  Cost: Potential millions in lost tax revenue
