Heads up! Our parent watchdogs have scanned the upcoming agenda for SMITHTOWN CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT. We found 2 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.
🚨 HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 8)
Secret Teacher Union Contract Vote
📅 2026-07-30
The board is voting to approve a new contract with the Smithtown Teachers’ Association, but the document itself is not available for public review. This agreement dictates teacher pay, hours, and working conditions, and could easily hide new mandates for DEI, SEL, or other ideological training and curriculum delivery.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Email the Board of Education (see the Official Agenda link for contact info). ‘I demand the full text of the Memorandum of Agreement with the Smithtown Teachers’ Association (Item 4.B) be made public and the vote postponed until parents can review it. Do not vote on a secret contract that impacts every classroom in our district.’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: Hidden Ideological Mandates
👀 MONITOR (LEVEL 5)
Vague Administrator Union Agreement
📅 2026-07-30
The board is approving a new union contract for school administrators, but the actual terms of the agreement are not included in the agenda. This contract could contain new requirements for professional development or performance evaluations that parents have not been able to review.
Recommended Action Plan

INVESTIGATE: The terms of the new administrator union contract are not public. Email the Board of Education (see the Official Agenda link for contact info) to demand that the full ‘Memorandum of Agreement’ for Item 4.A be posted publicly before the vote. Parents have a right to know what new policies or training requirements are being locked into this contract.
